In 1998, with the co operation of V line Freight, Channel 5's cameras joined the driver aboard a G Class locomotive for the journey from Tottenham to Bendigo. This is now a historic record of the double line due to the fact that the line was singled beyond Kyneton in 2005 as part of the Regional FastRail Project.
